    1. Re: GRANDFATHER , GRANDMOTHER
    2. Hi Freda, Have you found the "free" on-line images of Boone 1900? There is also a transcribed index to help you find a name on the image files. I looked for the childrens names that you listed in the index and 4 of them are there. The set of index files and the image files are linked from the "On-Line Inventory" of the USGenWeb Census Project at: http://www.us-census.org/inventory/inventory.htm If you go to the West Virginia page on the above URL, you will see a link to the index files, and a blue [View] button that links to the image files. The index tells us to open 2 image files for the Linville childen you named - - 01-04b.gif lists the head of household (Thomas) and his wife, and four of the children you mentioned are listed at the top of the next image file 01-05a.gif There are other Linville's and Powells in the index files. If any of you have personal family knowledge of the possible Roland please email Carrie at hoffert@mindspring.com This is what we know; Mary F. McNeely was married to Isaac Owen Jeffrey on 27 Jun 1874 in Boone County. But, she had a son, John Marshall Bias, on 14 Oct 1875 in Logan County, West Virginia and he was not the son of her husband. John's obit and death records id: 24 Jan 1941 in Logan County) say he is the son of Roland Bias. John married Anna Lake and raised his family near Chapmanville in Logan County.

    3. Hello Yvonne - I can't find your e-mail address. The Rebecca I found is not mine. There are so many Stewarts and Belchers in WVa and SW Va. I'll be home soon. I wrote the courthouse in Madison months ago for the death certificates of Elias and Rebecca (Belcher) Stewart. What I got was what I sent them - no parent's names or anything. I understand that there is a record in the courthouse that might have more info - the actual death entry book or something. Do I make sense? I wonder if the clerks in Boone would let me see the actual entries? Have you ever gone to them? As I've said, Elias and Rebecca moved to Boone from Mercer in the mid-1860s. I plan to go to Mercer Co. and Giles Co. when home, but I'll be right in Logan and Boone visiting. I want to get some of the Kith and Kin books while in Madison too. Hope you are having a good day. Rick

He was married to Gladys Pridemore d/o Charles & Ella (Burgess) Pridemore. As far as I know John & Gladys where married in Boone Co., WV. They had four children: Edna b. 1937, Authur, Virginia(my mother)b. 1942 and May, they were born in Boone Co., WV also. Someone had told my mother that he was related to Harry Whitmore or his wife of Bigson, Van, Boone Co., WV. And someone also had told my mother that he had died in Ohio when she was 2 or 3 years old, so that would be around 1944/1945 (I don't know how much of this is true). That is all I have on my grandfather (John Henry Palmer). Any help would be greatly appreciated. My e-mail address is noahsark_67@yahoo.com May God Bless You! Debbie (Workman) Adkins

    3. Hello - I've been hunting for my gg grandmother Rebecca Belcher's parents for awhile now. I received a possible lead yesterday. Does anyone have a Thomas Belcher b. 1803 in Va marr. Mary Gill b. 1807 in Tenn. One account says Mary Gill was born in NC. In any event they had a daughter Rebecca Jane Belcher born 15 Jun 1826. This may be my gg grandmother. Does anyone know of this family? She was a first cousin "once-removed" to Micajah Belcher - meaning her father Thomas and Micajah were first cousins? Rebecca married Elias Stewart in Mercer/Giles area of Va/WVa and lived in Mercer Co. until moving to Boone Co. in 1860s. Thank you. Rick Stewart
