    3. So sorry to be new at this area of the country for research to have to ask a basic question. But I would appreciate your help and guidance. Below is a will of which I'd like to obtain a copy of the original. I would really appreciate help in determining where the original of this will or a filmed copy might be. Judy Russell Bogart, Georgia, USA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Will of Joseph Edwards of Opequon Creek, Berkeley County, Virginia. Vol. 3, pp 48-50 Will dated Feb. 14, 1797 - Proved April 24, 1797 In the name of God Amen, I Joseph Edward of the County of Berkeley in the Sate of Virginia, Being sickely and weakley of Body But of a sound and perfect Mind and memory Thanks be to God for the same And Calling to mind the uncertain state of this transitory life. And that all flesh must yield unto Death when it shall please almighty to Call..Do make pronounce and declare this as my last will and Testament Revoking disannuling and making void all other Wills and testaments Heretofore made: And this and this only to be my last Will and Testament -- Imprimus and first of all, I do give and recommend my soul unto the Hands of Almighty God who first Gave it me: And my Body to be buried in the Earth in Christian like manner making no doubt in receiving the same again in the general resurrection: And as to Such transitory Estate that the lord has been pleased to Bestow upon me in this natural life I do Hereby Give Bequeath and Bestow in the manner following (To wit).. Item: My Will and desire is that my executors or executor do Sell and dispose of all my Land; said Lands which I have and any right or Title unto: To the best advantage they Can and Convey the same to the purchaser or purchasers there Agreeble to the rights and property vested in me; And after the payment of my just Debts and funeral Expenses: that the money arising therefrom To be equally divided betwixt my Son, Samuel Edwards, My Daughter, Elizabeth Eagan, wife of John Eagan; My Son John Edwards, my Son Joseph Edwards Junr; and my son Andrew Edwards and that my son Andrew Edwards part of the money arising from the Sale of the said lands be deposited and put into the hands of his brother, Joeseph Edwards Junr. to support him with it at his Discretion: As the said Andrew being not capable to act for himself: And provided always that if any of my aforesaid Children shall deceast this natural Life before they receive the money arising by the Sale or Sales of the Land or Lands aforesaid: that then and thereupon an Equal division be made between the Survivors of them. Item: My Will and desire is that my executor or executors do Sell and Dispose of all my Negroes and publish Sale to the highest bidder: and the Money arising from the sale of the sd. negroes be paid and applyed in the same way and manner as the Money arising from the sale of the Land aformentioned. And to the Same persons (Except fifty pounds I do hereby allow and appoint to pay to: Ruhunuh Beason: wife of Henry Beason) Item: My Will and desire that after the Sale of my person Estate and the money collected by my Executor named from the sale thereof, Twenty pounds to each of Mary Tuckers Children (to wit: Cissy Tucker, Suzanah Tucker and Hezekiah Tucker) And I do hereby ordain Constritute and appoint My son Joseph Edwards Junr. and John Davenport Executors of this my Last Will and testament.
