Where did Edward Morgan live in 1670? USA or the UK? Unless he is the immigrant, it should not be that hard to get back to his parents. Even if he was immigrant, have you checked Peter Wilson Coldham's books on immigrants? ALso the Bristol Register - these are all books in major libraries within the USA. If he was the immigrant, where was he born? Please do not try to force the pedigree to connect up the Edward Morgan living in 1670 with the guy living in the 14th century - you would be surprised at how many people try to do that. Be aware that you are working with Welsh patronymics and Philip ap Morgan might be a problem. Who was Philip ap Morgan's father and who was Philip ap Morgan's child - what name did that child possess? The very early day Welsh pedigrees were not written down on paper - they were memorized and recited by Bards, who were men who worked for gentry and recited their pedigree to them. Only later were the pedigrees written down. I have Morgans but mine are in Wales and I'm not certain what name I will end up with - again because of Welsh patronymcis. We are back to the Hearth Tax.
