Hello list, I am seeking the location of "Burks Branch". My ancestor received a land grant from Lord Fairfax in 1749, described as South River of Shenandoah and head of Burks Branch in Augusta Co., VA. Later, in 1754, it was described as being in Frederick Co, VA. In 1772, Berkeley Co was carved from Frederick Co., VA. I believe this section of the Shenandoah lies in present day Berkeley Co. Can anyone confirm this and give me some idea as to where Burks Branch located? TIA Bea
