    3. This is a nice idea, but I don't think it is appropriate for a genealogy mailing list. Most of us subscribe to several mailing lists and get a LOT of messages. Non-genealogy ones like this subject clutter up the mailbox and take up valuable time. There likely is a mailing list for this subject for those interested. I do urge everyone to write down memories of their mother and put this in their personal files as well as sharing it with their descendants, or put them on a family website if you have one. Too often, we neglect (or put off) writing down our own memories of our childhood and details of our own and our parents' lives in our quest for those early ancestors that are so elusive. We would love to know what games and toys our ancestors enjoyed - but we should also describe our own childhood activities for our descendants and anything our parents told us of theirs.
