I have been researching The Rimel Family Tree and have traced it back to Berkeley County, West Virginia/Virginia. Since I live in Pennsylvania all of this has been via email/snail mail/internet. I had an excellent hit with the 1880 1% Sample Census listing: BERKELEY, WV Enum. Dist. 9 Reel 1400 Page 143 Date: 06/01 -- RIMEL, PHILIP W M 46 Head RIMEL(nee JOY), SUSAN S W F 29 Wife RIMEL, GEORGE W W M 15 Child RIMEL, CHARLES L W M 11 Child RIMEL, MANALKER L W M 9 Child (Name is actually Mannalcus) RIMEL, ALICE E W F 4 Child RIMEL, LAURA R W F 2 Child RIMEL, UNNAMED W F 0 Child I later found that Philip's (1834 - 1904) parents are William Rimel and Jennie Smith. These would be my 3rd Great Grandparents. I also know Philip's 1st wife was Ruthy Ann Miller 1838 - 1872. The Rimel Family eventually moved to Chester County, Pennsylvania.
