    3. Yes, there is a "Harpertown" still existing today in Randolph Co., near Elkins. Thanks for the info below--I was wondering when it was established. I am investigating both that possibility and the Harpers Ferry one, though I have not yet found an instance of people calling Harpers Ferry Harperstown. The information is from a family history manuscript written in the 1920s. Thanks, all!
