Isaac Newton Bain ( Bayne ) 1843-1918 a Confederate Veteran of Company E. of the Second Virginia Infantry in the Civil War was born in Berkeley County and died at Bedington, Berkeley County. According to Susan R. Crites book "Civil War Soldiers from Berkeley County West Virginia" published 1999, Isaac left a hand written letter describing his Civil War experience which was in the possession of the Berkeley County Historical Society in November 1999. I am trying to locate this letter as he is related to my family. According to the Historical Society they do not have this letter. Does anyone have an idea where it might be found at this time?
