I am looking for informatin on my great grandfather William James Shimp (born aorund 1880) who we believe moved from Lewistown Pa. in the early 1900s (teens or twentys) He married Elsie Weaver (in Pa.) and they had about 11 children. Williams nickname was (Buffalo Shimp) They lived in Jones Spring Berkeley County WV. They moved to Kansas City Missouri in the 1930s, probably had family there. Elsie and some of the children moved back to Berkeley County but William and some of the children stayed on. William died there in some accident (not sure how) and is buried there and some of his line still live there to this day. Williams father was from Ohio. I believe his family owned a Carriage or wagon business in Lewistown Pa. somwhere near the mountain. Thanks very much my email is [email protected]
