I am searching for any information on James Turbitt Pollock b 1791 and /or his uncle by the same name who died in 1791. The family seems to have been in the Shepherdstown area. James married a Sarah MASSEY. His sister married Sarah's brother Joseph Massey. Sarah (maybe Joseph too) was a ward of their uncle Joseph G. Massey. All three men were blacksmith's by trade. Presbyterians by faith. One source has it that James Turbitt Pollock was reared by an uncle as his parents died young. I only have the one paternal uncle in my records. Was there another paternal uncle (father = Thomas Pollock of Rev. War)? Was it an uncle from his mother's side (mother = Mary Ellis) How did his parents die? DAR records show they died in 1800 m/1803 f. Other sisters married into the ENGLE line, one into the WARE line and a brother into the KEFFER line. Any help appreciated. NOTE: One source says James' mother's ELLIS line was out of the LEE line of VA but nothing proven that I know of. thanks Pam
