    1. [WVBERKEL] Re: Samuel Miller, Berkeley Co.
    2. To Lori Miller - You posted a query about Samuel Miller, b. 1787, on the WVBERKELEY mail group recently. While I don't have specific information on your Samuel Miller, there are some sources that you might want to check in Berkeley Co.... In Martinsburg, there is a Berkeley Co. Historical Society, which has a quite extensive donated genealogy file centering on the Miller family of Berkeley Co. The file is mostly in loose handwritten papers, is not very well organized, and not professionally documented, but is all contained in one big file cabinet, and the gentleman who manages the Historical society office is well familiar with the file. I too have a Miller (David Miller, b. ca 1725) ancestor in Berkeley Co., and was able to find some information about his ancestry while digging through that file.... From what I've been able to glean from various records, there appear to have been 2 brothers, Hugh and my ancestor, David, born in the early 1700's with connections to Berkeley, and there are numerous descendant branches from both... There is also a pretty extensive genealogical collection online, with many of the Berkeley Co. Millers in it.... It can be found at the following URL, and was created by Ronald McComb, who is also related to the Berkeley Co. Millers, and, as I recall, has visited this collection in Martinsburg as well: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=SRCH&db=rmccomb However, a brief perusal of that genealogy record this evening did not turn up your Samuel Miller.... But there may be other clues in there. Hopefully, this will be of some help to you. Pat Ventura - researching in Berkeley Co: RUSH, STANLEY, BRANNON, LOWRY, MILLER
