The mention of Simon Kenton reminded me of reading Allan Eckert's book about him, "The Frontiersman". Eckert is a very thorough researcher and a good writer and anyone interested in learning about the early movement into the western frontier (anything west of Virginia at that time!) should read this book. A warning, however...he tells it like it was with no "sugar coating" and I found it difficult to read of some of the brutality. Susan
