Hello, Could someone tell me where I could go in N Cumberland Co Pa for marriages in 1700's??? I need to find a marriage for the following Please; John Brannon b 1745 in Queens, Stradbally, Ire. came here in 1763 into Pa. Mar to Rebecca Baldwin?, Ball,? Bell? whatever. Rebecca Baldwin may been a dau of a Jehiel Bldwin whose wife was Bridget Goodwin if the name was Baldwin. If it was Ball as some think???, She may have been a dau of a surgeyor of land under Wm Penn? that John Brannon was learning the trade from through William Penn? There is a controversy about Rebecca's last name even tho a descendant, Frances Brown of Va has records from 1760's of a name of Baldwin but in a bible record part of the name couldn't be read good and think it was Ball/ Bell ??? We have found a Rebecca Baldwin b 27 jun 1750 in Milford, New Haven, Ct who may be the one, but none of their ch. 10/11 have any names connected to her siblings so some can't beleive it to have been her. They moved after marriage to Winchester Va in abt 1770??, They lived in Back Creek and had abt 1200 Land Grant acrea's at one time there. We are desperate in need of a copy of a marriage record such as a cert. or return of service or J P's record or Bible record etc. Any help from anyone would be wonderful.
