West Virginia Oct. 16 1832 Sarah Stookey (Stuckey ) b. 1811 VA d. ? Parents : Simon Stuckey and Hannah Riner Children of Alfred R. Lee and Sarah Lee (Stuckey) are: 1] Thomas Jefferson Lee b. 1834 VA d. 1899 Poweshiek Co., Iowa, married 1854 Greene Co., OH Mary Jane Lucas (this is my gg grandparents ) 2] Margaret Jane Lee b. 1836 VA married Franklin Poage (Pogue). Their children listed with them in 1870 are: Laura E -b.1856. , James A.-b.1858 Sarah H.b.1863, all born in Delaware Co., IN 3] Louisa Lee b. 1837 VA I believe (can't be positive) this is Susannah Louisa Lee who in 1860 Census Delaware Co. IN was married to : William E. Poage b. 1835 OH their children are listed as Mary Jane , Sarah E. Thomas H. On the 1860 census they lived next door to Thomas J. Lee , Franklin Poage and Margaret, and Alfred R. Lee and Sarah. In 1870 Delaware Co., IN census I have the following census for this same family: Poage Susan 32 WVA Keeping house 1600 Mary J. 14 IN Sarah E. 12 IN Thomas H. 10 IN Robert F. 7 IN Martha E. 5 IN Whitehair Henry 69 Farmer WVA Selvey Harriet 30 Keeping house WVA At times a Hannah Stookey b. 1791 VA, which would be Sarah mother , and either Hanna or Hiaglah Swingle b. 1824 VA and Martha Swingle b. 1843 VA lived with Alfred R. Lee and his family in Greene Co., OH and Delaware Co., IN. We figure Alfred R. Lee was born in Berkeley Co. West Virginia in 1811-12. In our research in this area we found these Lee's = 1810- Anthony Lee, Thomas Lee, John Lee living there. In 1820 Anthony Lee, Thomas Lee , John Lee ,Mary Lee are list as living there. Would anyone have any information on these Berkeley Co., WVA Lee's. On the 1880 census Delaware Co., IN for Alfred R. Lee it says his father was born in Conn. Thanks so very much.
