Not only do the reference materials not leave the building but a document I need...... is in the vault, and even if I went there, I am not allowed to get a copy of it. They will not under any circumstances copy the pages/documents. The only way I can see it is if the gentleman there that I spoke with goes in with me, he is the only one that is physically able to touch the book. I can hand write/copy the document but that is it. I don't understand why this is allowed to be. At some point that book will no longer be available to even do that. Why is this stuff not copied and put into Will Books, Deed Books, etc and/or microfilm etc before something happens to it.
