Trying very hard to find more information on my CUSTER connection. Franklin Pierce CUSTER wed a woman named Willa/Willy OTTY in Martinsburg. They had three children. One was Edith Virginia who wed a Benjamin Barger, another was a B. Frank Custer who relocated by 1911 to Ohio and the third was a daughter named Pearl. When I looked to the census records, I find "Pearl Elder". She married a David Samuel Catrow and lived in McKeesport, PA. She died in the 1960's and her obit names her as "Elder Pearl" Catrow. I've never seen the word "Elder" used as a given name. Hopeful that someone on this list will comment about the given name. Thanks, Karen Nelson Hangsleben
