I'm new to the list and thought that I'd inquire about some of the families that I'm researching. I'm interested in the Payne, Zuber/Suver, and Montgomery families of Berkeley Co., WVA and Old Frederick Co., VA. I descend from George Payne and Rachel Cowgill , thru son Henry and Mary Kurtz Payne, through daughter, Sarah Payne, who married Robert Montgomery in Berkeley Co. on 09 December 1801. Robert and Sarah Paye Montgomery's son, William Fletcher married Amelia Suver (Zuber), daughter of Johannes Zuber (John Suver) and Mary Catherine Hehn, who were in Berkeley C., W VA on 30 Nov 1809 when they purchased land on Mill Creek.
