Good morning -- This is my first time to post to this list. I am researching the family name of DERRY (Deary, Dairy, Dery, Derey, Dary, Darey, Darry, Derrey, Derrie, etc.). Looking for the parents of BAZIL DERRY (1786-1879). I do know that his mother's first name was MARY, and that she was well known for her fortune-telling. She was also known as "old Molly Derry". The father is a mystery. Branches of this family reportedly came out of Loudoun Co., VA, Jefferson Co., WV and Frederick Co., MD. I understand that there was a JOHN DERRY listed on the Berkeley County Poll List for 1788. I am just taking a chance that he might be BAZIL's father as the time-frame would fit.
