I am new to this list. I am hoping to reach someone with info on the Kilmers of Berkeley Co. My great grandfather was George Kilmer, born 1847 in Botetourt Co.,VA. According to his marriage and death certificates, his parents, both born in VA, were John and Margaret Cupp Kilmer. Even though there was a Kilmer family in Botetourt Co., John doesn't seem to be directly related to them. I have no other info on John; he had either died or abandoned his family by 1850. He was never listed as head of household in the census. I can't find a marriage record for John and Margaret, either. If anyone has info on these people, please contact me.
