Hello, I'm seeking any and all info about the family of Joseph D. CREAMER b. abt. 1780 who married Elizabeth AVIS (dau of Robert AVIS and Martha DARKE) some time before 1809, probably in Virginia. Joseph died (I think) in Virginia before 1830. He and Elizabeth had at least three children, two sons Joseph Darke and Robert Charles, as well as a daughter named Frances. I do not know anything about Joseph's parents or siblings, nor do I know whether they were English/Irish Creamers or German KREAMER/KRAMERs. Martha DARKE was apparently related to General William DARKE, but I'm not sure if she was his daughter, his sister or his first wife. (My current thinking is that they were brother and sister.) Joseph and Elizabeth's son Joseph Darke CREAMER married Mary Elnor BUCK in Harpers Ferry, VA (now WV) in 1833. She was b. 1817 in Shepherdstown, VA and was the dau of Henry BUCK and Hannah RAPP (or ROBB), who may have been married first to Henry FIZER. The Creamer family moved to Clark Co, OH some time between March of 1834, when their eldest daughter Martha Ellen was born in Harpers Ferry, and February of 1836, when their next daughter Susanna C was born in Ohio. They also had six other children: Henry, Mary Elizabeth, Joseph Franklin and Josephine (twins), and Charles Milton and James Florince (twins.) Henry and Joseph eventually ended up in Tacoma, WA and James (my great grandfather) migrated to Indiana. The others all stayed in Ohio, mostly in Clark and Champaign Counties. Martha Ellen CREAMER b. Mar 1834 in VA, married John Wesley WILKINSON in 1852 in Clark Co, OH Susanna C CREAMER b. Feb 1836 in OH, married Nathan L NEER in 1859 in OH Henry C VanBuren CREAMER b. Mar 1839 in OH, married Sophronia STACEY in 1867 in Champaign Co, OH and then Mary Gertrude (LNU) in 1876 Mary Elizabeth CREAMER b. Mar 1846 in OH, married John D HUNT after 1880, probably in OH Joseph Franklin CREAMER b. Jun 1849 in OH, apparently never married (??) Josephine CREAMER b. Jun 1849 in OH, died a week after she and Joseph were born Charles Milton CREAMER b. Mar 1854 in OH, died at the age of 18 in Clark Co, OH. Unmarried. James Florince CREAMER b. Mar 1854 in OH, married Olie (LNU) before 1880 in OH, then Elizabeth Mary SEHI in 1886 in Connersville, IN I have lots of descendent info and would love to share. I'll be grateful for any help!
