    3. They may have been borrowed from AGLL (the film numbers sound familiar) - American Genealogical Lending Library. Ask your library if they have the AGLL catalog - or can get the information on their interlibrary loan network. I asked my local library to look into it some years ago (membership is free to libraries) and they got the AGLL catalog. Borrower usually has to pay for film shipping. You might browse through GENEALOGICAL HELPER or other genealogical publications if available for an AGLL ad and information. Individuals can also subscribe for a fee and get microfilm loans. There are a couple other lending libraries (order through local library interlibrary loan) that I know of - Shawnee Library System (Illinois) and Mid-Continent Public Library Genealogy Circulating Collection (Missouri) - I have the Mid-Continent's 1990 catalog, and Virginia books are numbered V1 through V14, but no doubt their holdings have expanded since 1990, so that is possibly the source of the films. I think we all did not copy/document sufficiently at first. And years ago, copy machines were not as readily available and microfilm printers seldom available. I would vote copy machines and white-out as the most useful inventions of recent times!
