Dear genealogists, I have recently found out that my ancestor John Revenaugh, also spelled Ravenaugh, Ravenough, Reavenaugh, etc. lived in the Halltown area of now Jefferson County, then Berkeley County, in 1785 and 1786. Does someone have information or could someone tell me where I could find information about Halltown and possibly John? Later in 1796, John lived on property owned by William Little. Does anyone have information on where in Berkeley County that might be? By 1800, John lived in Martinsburg. As an aside, John married a Catherine(Katie) Barnhart, born 1758 in Maryland. I noticed that there is a Peter Bearnhardt (Barnhart) listed in the 1787 Berkeley County Personal Property Tax Lists. Perhaps Katie is a daughter of Peter.
