I would like to locate an obituary for: Philip F. Rimel 1/26/1834 - 2/21/1911 He was born in VA but lived much of his life around the Martinsburg area and spent the last few years of his life in Chester County, PA. Next to his tombstone is a Bronze GAR flag holder but I have not been able to prove why it is there. I have the obituary from the Chester County, PA newspaper but it does not indicate any military service. I have found a Philip F. Rimel serving in the the 58th VA Militia but that would not support the GAR affiliation. I was hoping that an obituary was placed in a Martinsburg area newspaper because of his connection to the area. Would anyone have any address to which I could request this obituary lookup?
