    1. Green Hill Cemetery help locating unmarked grave
    2. Karen Hangsleben
    3. In 1911, Franklin Pierce Custer was buried at Green Hill according to newspaper accounts of the day. His burial is not noted in the printed Green Hill Cem. abstract. I assume he was buried without benefit of a monument. I'm wondering who else might be buried on the "family" plot. He was married at the time of his death to a Willa (aka Nellie or Willie) Otty Custer. If I wrote to the Green Hill Cem on Burke St., what are the chances I would hear a reply? Is there another place where cem. records are kept to either call or write for information? I'd be happy to call or would welcome assistance from another list subscriber who lives in the local calling area. Thanks for any assistance. Karen Nelson Hangsleben

    3. I've done many hours of researching death records in Berkeley Co., WV. at my local LDS FHC. The LDS do not have newspapers during the time period I need. A trip east would be a wonderful idea - if only I could! I need a local person who would be willing to look up these obits for me. I would supply good dates and pay a reasonable search fee. I've tried RAOGK and the person who signed up for doing such things must have changed email addresses or is no longer able to oblige. My message to her bounced back to me. Let me hear from someone who might be able to help. Karen Nelson Hangsleben

    1. Re: [WVBERKEL] SNYDER/MATTHEAI in Martinsburg
    2. There are 10 Mattheai-Matthaei burials listed for Green Hill Cemetery (page 27 of the Cemeteries of Martinsburg and Berkeley County, West Virginia-Berkeley County Historical Society) Two of those list an Anna C., one with a birthdate of 1838 and the other with a birthdate of 1878 that is an infant that only lived 10 days. I also checked the Berkeley County Historical Society publication of Obituaries from 1791-1855 but found no indication of a Mattheai or Matthaei. Hope this helps. 3. Celia Daniel was looking for information on the family of MARGARET MCLAUGHLIN who married in Berkeley, VA in 1789 to EPHRAIM PRICE and then migrated to Fayette co., PA. Celia, if you are still on the list, we may be looking for the same McLaughlin family. I have a JAMES MCLAUGHLIN born 1795 in Berkeley Co., VA and migrating to Fayette Co., PA around 1820. I do not know who James father was but seem he would be the right age to be Margaret's brother. Would like to hear from you. Carolyn --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? 1. MATTHAEI/SNYDER/GRIMM
    2. I am searching for information on Anna MATTHAEI and husband Charles MATTHAEI. Specifically, I am looking for more information on Anna's mother, Anna SNYDER, living with the family in Martinsburg c. early 1900s. Anna MATTHAEI is listed as a niece to my Lewis GRIMM in his obituary. I'm trying to determine if Anna SNYDER was Anna GRIMM prior to her marriage. Not sure if this list can help since there is a possibility that Anna SNYDER married in Baltimore, but hoping someone on this list knows of this family. Thanks for your help, Susan Curelop Researching GRIMM/KOGELSCHATZ/MATTHAEI/SNYDER in Martinsburg and Baltimore.
