Recently I made an effort to tie together the descendants of Aaron Duckworth that came from Maryland into Barbour and a few others in Calhoun. Do you have any of this documented? Aaron Duckworth is mentioned in the Tatterson Poling Book in reference to a transaction involving Peter Poling and Aaron Duckworth in and slightly before 1805. Apparently a joint purchase of land on Elk Creek, for which Peter and wife Hannah were granting their interest back to Aaron. I have no idea whethe the earlier Aaron ever came to either the Harrison or Barbour areas. It appears that the Duckworth settlements here were about 1830-1840. Nick Sturm Henry Duckworth b Sep 1, 1779 death recorded in Barbour County, WV on 26 May 1855 list his parents as Aaron & Elizabeth Duckworth; wife Abagail; son Orson Duckworth.....this orson on some deed records has been listed as Aaron..hope I'm remembering correctly...tried to find deed I copied but not handy...I have to go to work in few minutes...I will get a Vol and page #...or I can send you a copy.
