I recently learned a bit more about my family and would like to share it with those who may be researching the Skidmore line and also to see if anyone can share with me any information they may have. My GGrandfather, George Skidmore married Senia Virginia Sigley on April 24, 1889, in Preston County, WV. The marriage record shows he was 26 and Senia was 23. He was born in Barbour County, WV and she in Preston County. George died by accidental death in Fellowsville, WV in August, 1926. His exact day of death was not known. In the Barbour County 1880 Census, I found Margaret Skidmore age 58, with several children including: Jacob, 37 Wilkey, 23 Saul, 21 George, 17 (Possibly my GGrandfather) May, 18 and Anna, 15. Considering the age on the marriage record, the George could be my GGrandfather. Anyone having information to share, please do so. Also, I found some old photos and added them to my web page.
