May I comment. It always pays to examine the original "if one can afford it." If working on history, I'm not sure the relationship matters unless you are applying for membership in a restrictive organization. Of course, when it comes to census records none of us can afford it. Photo-reproductions are a long way from revealing the details the original may possess, and some are really poor, but at least we get something if we use what is available.
