Harry, Here's what I found: 1860 Barbour census, 844-842 Henry Skidmore 36 VA farmer Elizabeth 28 VA Charles S. 6 VA George 4 VA I didn't find Samuel Ball in 1860, but I did find a marriage Samuel Ball and Elizabeth Hovatter, 12 Oct 1858, Cochran's Marriages, p. 17 I don't have 1870 Barbour census; but in 1880 I found Henry Skidmore 55 farmer Elizabeth, wife 50 George, son 23 Emma, dau 18 Jane, dau 16 Mathias, son 12 I didn't find Samuel and Elizabeth Ball in 1880.
