    3. Nestorville is at the very southern edge of Cove District (or Township). In 1822 Nestorville was in Randolph county of Virginia. The Stemples of the Barbour area all came from Preston county (up in corner next to western panhandle of Maryland. Aurora was the initial settlement site of these Stemples (Godfrey, Gotfried). Several came through Randolph (which in part became part of Barbour in 1843. Some are still here, but many continued on westward. I believe Isaac, William, Samuel and Adam were the four than stayed and left some descendants. Eugene Richman lives next door to me. Not sure of the mail route, but they get their main at the post office in Philippi. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mary Hitt <maryhitt@worldnet.att.net> To: <WVBARBOU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, October 03, 1999 7:09 PM Subject: Re: Nestorville and related places ... > > > Subj: Re: Nestorville and related places ... > Date: 10/2/99 4:10:48 PM Eastern Daylight Time > From: MaryHitt > To: tarsala@pacbell.net, WVBARBOU-L@rootsweb.com > > In a message dated 9/6/99 2:53:16 AM Eastern Daylight Time, > tarsala@pacbell.net writes: > > << I have an ancestor: Daniel RICHMON, b. 1822 in Nestorville. > What VA county was Nestorville in at that time? > > He had a brother Jesse I. or L., who in later life called himself > RIGHMAN, b. ca. 1824??? > There's a marriage record floating around that a Jesse RIGHMAN married > an Anna Maria STEMPLE whose family was from Aurora, WV.
