    3. A little more on details: From Barbour Marriage Book 1 1/2 Elizabeth Bolyard, age 20, single, b. Barbour, dau. Jacob and Sally to John Gainer, age 23, single, b. Randolph, s. G. W. and Phebe by A. Lister. It would have been Randolph east of Tygart in 1835-36 when Elizabeth was born. George W. Gainer was in Randolph Census for 1850, only Gainer family recorded there that year. In Randolph 1860 George W. Gainer and Phebe were listed in the household of "Horms H." (Harms) Gainer, with their two youngest children. This was actually Sturms Gainer. (That given name seems to confirm that George W. was of the same family as Elizabeth Gainer [or her brother]). Unsure of source of Phebe's maiden name. Probable date suggest checking Randolph marriages, but for that period some were recorded in Harrison and Monongalia or perhaps even Preston that should have been Randolph (depended on where the preach next stopped it appears). Maxwell has biography of Jacob Bolyard family so name might have been there. Above marriage data courtesy of my sister Catherine Lew Sturm.
