    1. Sarah POLAND wife of William PRATT b1771-d1842...WV Help please!!!
    2. In the book HISTORY OF PRESTON CO by Morton, there is a reference to a William Pratt b1771-d1842 who married first Sarah Poland then a Mary.... I hope someone has such a Pratt/Poland marriage in their database. Sure would like to know who these folks were, where they married etc. I can't find a William Pratt in this time period, at this age, anywhere in what is now WV. In this general time period, based on William Pratt's dates, there were Pratts in Monongalea, Harrison and Ritchie Cos. Polands were in several counties in northern WV too. Really need to identify these folks. A dinner for two at McDonalds for the answer. OK....Wendys....Thanks Lyle Corder

    1. Fitzwater, Phillips, Harris, Moore & Kittle information needed
    2. Mary Hitt
    3. Hello fellow list members! Did I ever send any of you a GEDCOM or a genealogy report of my Fitzwater-Phillips-Kittle information? If so, do you think you still have it? I made a very stupid mistake. I failed to back up my FamilyTreeMaker files for a very substantial period of time. (Actually, I did back them up, but it was to my partitioned "virtual" D drive, not to diskettes). And guess what happened -- you got it: a major hard drive The good news is that it's still under warranty. The bad news is -- although I have not lost all of my information, what I have has not been updated in a long, long time. If you or any of our fellow list members can send me information on these families, or GEDCOMS, again, I would really appreciate it. Thank you! It may be easier for you to reply to me at my other e-mail address: [email protected] I'm having some trouble with AT&T's incoming e-mail. Mary Hitt Murrysville, PA

    3. Becky, Isaac J. Coonts m. Mary E. Hollar (Haller?) on 13 Apr 1878, according to Wes Cochran's Barbour Co. Marriages 1843-1892, p. 57. In the same author's 1860 Barbour Census, on p. 4 there is listed in household 54-54 the family of Michael T. Holler, age 35 b. VA (where all the family was born), farmer, with Sarah 38, Catharine M. 14, Armelia Ann 13, Charles W. 11, John W. 6, Flavius B. 5, Mary E. 2, and William B. 3/12. Same 1869 Census book, p. 93, household 1456-1456 is headed by Adam Coontz age 40, farmer, b. VA (as are all in the family) along with Sarah 40, Samuel M. 14, Melvina 9, Isaac 7, Williamson 6, Darcus 3, and Camden 1. These might be your ancestors' families. 1. POLING and HOWARD families of early Harrison Co, VA/WV
    2. I am working on the early Howard family of Harrison Co, VA/WV. John Howard is in the 1810 and 1820 census for Harrison Co. Two of his children married Polands. Deborah Howard m Samuel Poland 14Jun1810 Samuel Howard m Margaret Peggy Poland 12Dec1811 Trying to learn more about these families. On 23Apr1827, Samuel Howard and wife Margaret (Poland) and some other Poland descendants sold land to Samuel Poland and William Poland. 225 acres on Booths Creek......This land had belonged to Martin Poland. I know that Margaret was the daughter of Martin Poland who owned the land. Now, when they sold the land, Samuel Howard and his wife Margaret Poland were living in Scott Co, IN. Samuel Howard in 1837 bought some land on Booths Creek in Harrison from John Brockenbrough, President of the Bank of VA. 85 acres for $85, next to Nixon. Hope there is someone out there who knows about these Polands and Howards. I do know that these are the same Polings of Barbour Co, VA/WV. Lets talk...Thanks...Lyle Corde

    1. Looking for Jenkins?
    2. Hello everyone, I am new to the list and genealogy. I was wondering if any one might have any information on a Nathan JENKINS b. May 1859 & d. 14 Sept 1926 in Barbour Co. He was married 6 July 1883 to Margaret Ann CALLIHAN b. 24 Aug 1868 & d. 23 Nov 1926 in Barbour Co. They owned the Jenkins store located in Overfield. Nathan had a sister named Jane b. 1851 according to census records. Nathan and Jane lived with the John Rider family. (1870 census) Family stories have Nathan being born in Mineral Co., and when his father died he moved with his mother and she left and moved on with a Wesley RIDER to Fairmont.? Any information or clues would be appreciated. Thank you, Denise Knight [email protected]
