    3. Abel Kelley was born in Randolph county in 1827 the son of Abel W and Jemima Kittle Kelley. In 1850 he came to Barbour county and is in the census, living with Amase and Martha E Kittle. I lose him at that point but am told he worked on the covered bridge in Phillipi and died in 1875. Would appreciate any info anyone might have on him or construction of the bridge.     3. I have Abel W. and Jemima Kelley in my database, but did not have their son Abel. However, my husband's O'Brien ancestors were involved in construction of the masonry portion of the Philippi bridge, and I have done some minimal research on that. Look at the wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippi_Covered_Bridge). That article also lists a few other references, including one I used: Carnes, Eva Margaret (1952). Centennial History of the Philippi Covered Bridge, 1852–1952, Barbour County Historical Society, Inc, Charleston Printing Company, Charleston, West Virginia. If you find other sources naming workers, etc., I hope you will post them -- I'd be interested, and I imagine others would also.     3. Ray, Do you have the information about the Kelley and Kittle family from the book The Harts of Randolph compiled & edited by Katherin Hart Frame? Since the names sounded familiar I checked the index and found an Abel Kelley b. 1827 son of Abel William & Jemima Kittle Kelley. He was a twin to Jemima Kelley b. 1827 d. 1866 m. a -------- Phillips. Abel H. Kelley b. 1827 d. 1855 m. Susan Ferguson according to page 378. Would this be same Kelley and if you wish more lookup in this book let me know.
