Dear listers: Does anyone have an Eli Davis who had a son named Peter Davis? I have no information on the two of these men, other than Peter married a Sarah FRDDLE. I do know that they came from somewhere in Virginia--possibly Hampshire County or close. Peter Davis had a son named William Peter Davis, born abt. 1817 in Virginia. He married Sarah (surname unknown). We never found a record of their marriage. William was a "waggoner" or maybe a teamster and may have met Sarah outside of Hampshire County. Sarah was born abt. 1827. They were married abt. 1849 in Hampshire County. At least two of their daughters, gave Ohio, as place of birth on later census. And, "Wood Co." (Va?) on marriage license. We were unable to locate any info in either Wood Co., Va or Wood, Co. Ohio. William and Sarah are not on the 1850 census of Hampshire Co. so we know he was either missed when census was taken or living elsewhere. Children of William Peter Davis and Sarah are: Mary Catherine Davis b. abt 1850; died 27 November 1877. Married Henry Clay Jackson. Robert P. Davis b. abt. February 1854 (1900 census) Married (1) Virginia Adkins (2) Laura Shelly. Virginia Davis b. abt February 1854. She and Robert were twins. Married Charles Henry Smith. Margaret E. Davis b. abt. 1857; died 9 June, 1884. Married Stephen Orndorff. Sarah V. Davis b. abt. 1858. She was on 1860 census. No further information. Anna Elizabeth Davis b. abt. March 1859(???) In the 1900 census, she gave March 1860, same year James Henry was born! Married Luther Carder/Robinson. (This is my line--have children of this marriage on down to me) James Henry Davis b. 9 May 1860: died 4 September 1902, Hendricks Tucker Co., WV. We have his date of birth from "notes" taken a from family bible (from another family member), as well as his obituary. James Henry married Flora E. Paxton. John William Davis b. abt. 1863: died 8 June 1900. Married Bridget Dorsey. Ida Belle Davis b. abt. 1865. Married George D. Peters. Jackson W. Davis b. 25 January, 1869 (Hamp. Co. birth record). Married Katie Cramer. Minnie May Davis b. 10 August 1872 (Hamp. Co. birth record); died unmarried 29 November, 1891. Can anyone connect? Tina
