The Jefferson County Courthouse has birth records - I'm not sure how far back they go. I have done research there and I,ve gone back to 1880, but I know there are records before tthat date. Also, the local cemeteries have a wealth of information on birth and death dates. If you know the graveyard, I can check for you - if you do not live in the area. Susan
