Hi. Hoping someone can help with this. What sources would I use to search for someone's parents in the late 1700, early 1800's? I know there are some church records but what other records are there? I am fairly new at doing american research. My ancestors lived in Madison Co. Ohio and I've traced them back to 1830. The census records have listed them as coming from Virginia. One of my cousins says she has a marriage record for them from 1825 that has them getting married in Harpers Ferry, Virginia. She said this came from a book but she never gave me a title. The surnames I am researching is TILLMAN/THOMAS. I would really like to know what records would be good for locating parents and a birthplace. Thanks. Jean
