(Hello ladies! Sorry for the delay!) I'm always trying to save some time--I have a three-year-old who keeps me very busy. YES, I am 99% sure that is the very same Sarah Allison/Ellison. The Roane County, WV death records book lists her dob as 1798 in "Ashland" County, NC (I figured it was Ashe but I checked to make sure and there is no Ashland County NC), her date of death as 6-19-1858 in Roane County, VA (later WV) and her parents as William and Peggy Ellison. Sarah Allison/Ellison and John Ferrell had at least 10 children, 3 of which were the Belinda, Mary and Nancy you mentioned. I am descended from Belinda Ferrell, who married William Hamon. The Ferrell family did live in Russell County, VA--most if not all of their children were born there. The Ferrell line seems to be a little complicated--I know there are several John Ferrells of the right age in the right area, and someone mentioned that at least 2 of them had wives named Sarah/Sallie! I have not done any serious work on that line, so I can't say if Sarah/Sallie Ferrell is a sister to John, but I would think it likely if they married siblings. I will share anything I have, and would love to have the list of 12 children for William & Margaret/Peggy Allison/Ellison. I have seen her surname as Blackwood--is this unproven? I did find a marriage record for William Allison & Margaret Blackwood in Augusta County, VA, in an appropriate year but I have no firm proof that this is the same pair. Also, where did the nickname "Master" come from? I have the Ashe County census book containing the years 1800-1840, so if anyone needs Allison information from those years just let me know. Hope to hear from you all again--maybe we should join an Allison mailing list (I'm sure Rootsweb has one, or we could request one for descendants of William & Margaret) and converse there??
