Many, many people came to Doddridge County from Monroe and Belmont Counties in Ohio. If you are looking for your David and Elizabeth Overfield JONES in that state, those would probably be good counties to start in. I see the Overfield family in Doddridge County in the 1850 census. Elizabeth seems to have a brother named William S., who was 6 at the time -- though I don't see what that would have to do with the marriage record you questioned. Probably a coincidence. Even by 1861, William S. Overfield would have been only 17 -- not likely to have been a bond signer or marriage witness? Mary Ann Wamsley
