You listed Ohio Co. for some of yours -- that's nearby, of course, and I think all were one county at one time. Ralph was a given name that carried through from the earliest generations and appeared in many of the families. One early Ralph settled in Greene Co., PA, so that is a place you might look. Some of those Smiths moved to Monroe / Belmont Co., OH, before settling in WV. There is an old book by Howard L. Leckey titled "The Tenmile Country and Its Pioneer Families: Genealogical History of the Upper Monongahela Valley" which has some info about the Greene Co. Smiths. And someone published a book on the descendants of Ralph and Olive (Clark) Smith a few years ago, but I have not yet been able to find a copy.
