    3. Hello all, Below is a look-up I received that tells about the SUGAR GROVE CHURCH in Monongalia,WV The look-up was for my PETER FOGLE b.1799 PA w.ANNARAH DENT b.1803 m.12-30-1822 in Monongalia,Wv If anyone has access to the below mentioned reference books I would really appreciate a look-up. Annarah Dent`s parents were John Dent and Margaret Evans. Anything would help. Sue Fogle/Sisk Hitti@ecr.net Dear Sue Fogel, In looking for a different name for the Morgantown lookups (From Strength to Strength), I found a reference to your Peter Fogel. This on page 114 of that book. A church known as the "Sugar Grove Church" a Presbyterian church was built in Monongalia County, W. Va. on Dent's Run (in your earlier note your ancestors were Dent and Fogel). One of the subscribers to the construction of this church was Peter Fogel, who was one of three individuals leading the effort. The other two were Matthew Lough and Waitman Flemming. The document was dated 1 March 1849. The church was also called Stewart's Run. There is a name in the charter of the subscription stating that the location of the church was near Meadows Run on land owned by Andrew Lough and Felix Scott. As of 1935 the Sugar Run Presbyterian church was still active according to the book. You may find some good family records associated with that church. One other excellent resource to look for in a larger genealogy library is the series of books "Old and New Monongalia" that gives an excellent overview of the county. They have these books indexed, unlike this present book. The 1849 document lists about thirty or so names of other subscribers. I do hope that this helps. I just stumbled onto it and noticed the name Fogel. Good luck in your search and let me know if you hit any more information on your family. Sincerely, Tom Devon Longview, Tx.
