Looking for birth parents of Sarah E. or Sarah Jennie Oates/Puffenbarger. Born Mary 21, 1874 in Weston, Lewis Co., West Virginia. 1880 census she is living with Samuel McCluster as Sarah E. Puffenbarger, adopted, born in WV, and both parents born in WV. On marriage application she goes by Sarah Jennie Oates, parents being Benjamin Oates and Elizabeth Puffenbarger. Death certificate also lists Sarah Jennie Oates, born in Weston, West Virginia. No parents indicated except for Mr. McCluster. Her children always referred to her as Jennie Oates.
