    2. Beth, There is a Welch West Virginia. It is the county seat for McDowell County. McDowell County was formed from Tazewell Virginia in 1858. Hope this answers your question. Pat in Va.

    3. I cannot help but think that you mean Welch, WV. It is in the southern part of the state in what we call the coal fields. My husbands family is from there and we just recently made a "pilgrimage" to the area in conjunction with a funeral. If you think Welch is correct, I will share more information and some photos if you like. Welch is in McDowell County. To find it on a map look WAY south in WV and you will find Bluefield...then take RT 52 west to Welch.     3. Gene: Terre Haute is in Indiana. It is the home of the "infamous" Columbia House record (now CD club) where you could get 10 albums for a buck. My adopted mom was from Terre Haute and it is possible that there was a sanitarium there. I never heard of Terre Hault. Sharon
