    3. I have an Edward G. Welch, I'm guessing he was born about 1840ish as his grandson Edward Glen Welch was born in 1889. Edward G. Welch was married to Lucy Dodd. Just a coincidence, or could there be a connection? 3. My grandmother's maiden name was Welch or Welsh. She was Daisy Welch - married David Milton Albright. She was born in Fallen Timber, lived for awhile in Smithfield. They raised their family in Clarksburg. Have been trying to trace her roots. She died in the 1960s. Maybe there is a connection. She had some sisters - Lorna, Marie, Ordah, Helen. Thanks - Jene

    1. Re: [WVA-L] Arthur and Sandridge
    2. Thanks Gloria, I have not a clue where the Sandridge came from so these may very well help. I looked for Sandridge families in Kanawha and so far have not found but one and he must have been a brother or something. So thanks so much this is at least a beginning. Pat

    1. [WVA-L] Arthur and Sandridge
    2. PJ Likely no connection, but in Cabell County Marriage book (KYOWVA) there are the following Sandrige marriages: William Sandridge age 21 born in Amherst County, VA married Corintha Lewis age 22 born in Ohio on Aug. 5, 1875. Alice C Sandridge age 24 b Mason Co, VA married Elias Weekley age 32 b Cabell County on Nov 10, 1880 Sarah Sandridge age 25 d/o P.L. & L. Sandridge married P. Childers age 27 s/o S.A. & C. Childers on Mar. 5, 1874 Va. (Virginia?) Sandridge age 24 born Cabell Co married Joseph E Swann age 23 on Mar 1 1877. Both born Cabell Co. In 1860 Wayne Co (annotated) census, there was a Justin Sandridge age 80 living in #0307-0296 hshld of Asa Lemuel Wilson age 43 b OH s/o Samuel Wilson, wife Mary (Ann) age 37 d/o Ambrose L. & Sally Doolittle and 11 children (mentions two other children also). Asa married 2nd Susie S. Thomas on Oct 25, 1865; she died May 22, 1873. He then married an Eliza ____? No notation as to the relationship of Justin to the family. So perhaps a look at Amherst Co, Va or Ohio for Sandridge families. Gloria [email protected] ô¿ô ~

    3. Dear Brenda, The genealogical society that is here in Huntington is called KYOWVA. It is located in Guyandotte at 232 Main Street. The library hours are Monday 6-9Pm . Wednesday 10-3 and Saturday 10-4. The phone number is 1-304-525-4367. The other good places to do research are the Cabell Public Library special collections (upstairs) on Fifth avenue right down town and the Marshall Universtiy Special Collections. It is located in the old library building on third avenue---again upstairs....it is tricky to find....they are in the process of renovating...just keep asking people to help you. It is open Monday thru Friday 9-4:30 (it may open as early as 8...) Closed on Saturday and open Sunday afternoon. Can not help you with Kanawha except to recommend the State Archives in the Cultural Center at the State Capital. I do not know what the hours are during the week, but it is open on Saturday 1-5. 2. I don't know about Springhill but I talked to Mr Dietz at Oaklawn Cemetery in Huntington/Barboursville and I believe he said he had a computer listing of the burials and sites in the cemetery. I asked him if he would be receptive to someone listing the burials and he said yes. He stated that he did not have time to do it. Terry P
