    1. Re: [WVA-L] Lambert/ Ellison/ Hatfield,
    2. Cindy McCoy
    3. Hi, I have Valentine as b. 1789, d. 16 June 1867, married Martha Weddington b. 1789, married about 1805. Their children were 1. Joseph 1806-1880 m. Milly then Nancy Evans 1809-1847 2. Eli (Aly) hatfield 1804 - ? m. Anna Evans 1810 - 3. Ephraim Hatfield 1812 - ? m. Nancy (thier son Anderson was the Devil Anse of the feud) 4. Andrew Hatfield 1813 - ? m. Susan A couple of pages that I found useful: http://members.aol.com/HatwellE/genealogy.html http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/h/a/t/Rod--Hatfield/ These are my husband's people, and interestingly enough, his g-g- g-grandmother was a first cousin to Devil Anse Hatfield on his mother's side, and his g-g-g-grandfather was first cousin to Randolph McCoy. Who are your Hatfields that you can't connect? Maybe I have them somewhere? Hope this helps. Cindy W. 3. Hi Cindy, It is about time I 'met' a McCoy. I am a Hatfield descendant. I am unable to make a connection with my Hatfields. I don't have any children for Valentine. Was the Martha that you list as a spouse of Valentine named Weddington? I also don't have any Ellisons or a Lambert that would help you. I would like to exchange information on the Hatfields if we can connect. Thanks Ron Mitchell [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: Cindy McCoy <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Saturday, August 07, 1999 12:29 PM Subject: [WVA-L] Lambert/ Ellison/ Hatfield, >Hi, >I am looking for information on John A. 1. [WVA-L] Researching in WV
    2. About 6 weeks ago I requested anyone on this list to suggest locations to reseach for my trip to WV, mainly in Ohio and Marshall Counties. I received a number of suggestions. This is a short report for others who are planning a trip to this area. The Wheeling Room at the Ohio Co. library - plan to spend at least a full day, if not 2 days. I had been there before, but still found information taking up a day of research. The volunteers are great. Ohio Co. Court House - the Clerk's office is super. Copies of ALL the old records are there. And in such usable form. Index of birth, marriage and deaths lead to the real paper work. Land deeds, wills, court cases - all just waiting for you. When we had spent almost 2 days in that office, I asked the Clerk if there was anything we had missed, and she came up with more goodies. Don't miss out by now asking for help. She even copied addresses for me of other places in the state to research, i. e. Colsom Hall in Morgantown and Archives in Charleston. Went down to Moundsville (Marshall Co.) and even though the library was closed for the 2 days we were there, the court house - again ask - is full of records since the county was divided from Ohio Co. Great source of birth, marriage, death, wills, land records, etc. Then headed to Colsom Hall in Morgantown. We stopped at the college vistor's center and they provided a parking pass for the next day. Parked at the bottom of the hill behind Colsom Hall. (Parking is the big problem.) This research library is on the 2nd floor, and though we didn't find anything we didn't already have, it would have been a good source of reference material for a one stop trip. Thanks to all who made suggestions, and hope you are all as successful as we felt we were. Beth in FL

And again thank you for the advice I would have shared what I had in full if not for your advice. I have printed out the message and will give it a dry run and then get brave and try it. Computers are a bit scary to me and the use of it, sure is an improvement over the type writer. ProudNana4, your neighbor
