    1. [WV-SOUTHERN] Whitby WV and the Halstead Cemetery
    2. Mark
    3. Hello Whitby WV folks- I started to list the graves at Halstead Cemetery at a web site below: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2401650&CScn=Halstead+Cemetery&CScntry=4&CSst=52&CScnty=3104& As many of the graves there are unmarked, I wanted to ask all of you, if you could tell me who else is buried at the Halstead Cemetery. I do of course maintain the Whitby WV Memorial page and with its 500+ names, I was only able to verify 5 people on the list as being buried at the Halstead Cemetery. I have literally physically visited the site. ANY help you could think of, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much Mark Combs Man who loves Whitby WV --- On Fri, 5/14/10, Mark <yougottabekid@yahoo.com> wrote: > From: Mark <yougottabekid@yahoo.com> > Subject: New Whitby WV web page Update > To: "Mabel Lee Bolen" <leebee5@mac.com>, "Rachel Leola Booth" <rachelbooth@verizon.net>, "Pete Bowling" <pbowling@gte.net>, bpowe1@aol.com, carolynbramlett@bellsouth.net, "Appalachian Coal" <APPALACHIANcoalhauler@yahoogroups.com>, "CTD" <ctd2003@charter.net>, "Jackie Dedman" <jackied@citicom.com>, derfgerbs@yahoo.com, dmharmon7@bellsouth.net, DremaFinn@aol.com, "Robert Duncan" <kf8lh@charter.net>, Ecclessayre@aol.com, elphs@ec.rr.com, "Evelyn" <ehutzhens@peoplepc.com>, "G.R. and Jean E. 1. [WV-SOUTHERN] lookup needed
    2. Suzanne Russell
    3. I am fairly new to this list and have recently posted information for my John Cunningham who was possibly born in Frederick County about 1774. It would help me greatly to have a copy of the Appraisal of his father, also John Cunningham who died, in 1801. His will is in Will Book 6. The Administration/Appraisal is in Will book 7 on pages 224-226. I have seen abstracts of both here: http://books.google.com/books?id=-wNf6WjNbScC <http://books.google.com/books?id=-wNf6WjNbScC&printsec=frontcover&dq=Freder ick+County,+Virginia+Wills+%26+Administrations+1795-1816%E2%80%9D+Compiled+B y:+M.+N.+Kangas+%26+D.+E.+Payne+1983&source=bl&ots=Y5M-KGar7P&sig=7GcsiJl6a7 BsilQyQo8hITipYIE&hl=en&ei=zZOCTaP9AsS_tgfMoLnGBA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=res ult&resnum=6&ved=0CDgQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=John%20Cunningham%20&f=false> &printsec=frontcover&dq=Frederick+County,+Virginia+Wills+%26+Administrations +1795-1816%E2%80%9D+Compiled+By:+M.+N.+Kangas+%26+D.+E.+Payne+1983&source=bl &ots=Y5M-KGar7P&sig=7GcsiJl6a7BsilQyQo8hITipYIE&hl=en&ei=zZOCTaP9AsS_tgfMoLn GBA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=6&ved=0CDgQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=John% 20Cunningham%20&f=false Seeing the actual Appraisal will help me know if son John is my ancestor. If someone could do a lookup for me I will be happy to pay any reasonable copying, scanning, emailing, or postage fees. Thanks, Sue Russell

    1. [WV-SOUTHERN] John Cunningham, possibly in Greenbrier pre 1799
    2. Suzanne Russell
    3. I am searching for my ancestor, John Cunningham who married Sarah (Sally) Hickman in Franklin County, KY in 1799. I have never been able to find his parents, but I got this very intriguing lead from a fellow Cunningham seeker. This John was born in Frederick Co., VA in 1770's to Thomas Cunningham and Elizabeth Unknown. Biography: John Cunningham John Cunningham left home soon after he was grown and possibly before the death of his father. It is said that he went to Green Briar County, and most likely pushed on farther west with the tide of emigration, but as he was never heard from further by his family, it was supposed by them that he was either killed by the Indians or died of sickness. Copied from page 11 of The Scott Cunningham Family Record Book. When my John was in Kentucky he was a Baptist. If this is my John Cunningham he would have been a young man, probably without much money, and would have only stayed a short while. If anyone can give me any information about this John Cunningham or any research hints it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sue Russell
