    3. Eighteen Mile Road refers to the road that runs along Eighteen Mile Creek. There are many branches of Eighteen Mile Creek, but it was probably a road that ran along the main branch of Eighteen Mile Creek. This covers about 6 or 7 County Road today. I believe that one of them today is also refered to as Eighteen Mile Road. Did you mean to say that you found them in the 1930 census? I have some information on some Coulter's (that is how they spell their name today) that are from the Clay County area back in the 1800's. They married into my family a few times. This could have been one of their descendants. Maybe if you check the Clay County Census Records for 1920 or earlier you may find them. Let me know if I can be of more assistance. The census taker had written in the margin, Eighteen Mile Road. I've looked in the 1920 census, and can't find any of the people on this page. Is it possible that this is one of those hollows that the 1920 census taker didn't go into? I didn't know if anyone was familiar with the lay out or not. > > The family I found: > David M. The family spells the name COULTER now, so not sure why this was spelled like this. Also, the death certificate has Beethe instead of Betha. > > > ==== WV-CENSUS-LOOKUP Mailing List ==== > Genealogy: Search long enough and everyone connects somehow.... > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >
