Dear Researchers: I am in search of any information regarding a young woman by the name of Mary Jane Harris. Miss Harris was an unwed mother, bearing a son named William (Harris) in 1860. Mary Jane eventually left Pendleton County, West Virginia and moved to Delaware County, Indiana. Family lore is that she traveled cross country alone with her son. I am trying to determine who her family was. I'm sorry I have no other information regarding Miss Mary Jane. Would someone be so kind as to try to locate a Mary Jane in the household of a Pendleton County Harris family, perhaps in 1850 and or 1860?
