There are no statewide lists or indexes for West Virginia deaths by name. You have to work with places, ideally the county location. If you do not know the location, find the family in the nearest census records, and check the records and cemetery inventory books (if any) for that county. You can also try writing to the local historical/genealogical society for that county.
