    1. 1912-1916 > Wood County>Parkersburg>Charles H. LUCAS
    2. Joyce Dever
    3. Hello, My paternal great-grandfather was Charles H. (possibly Harrison?) LUCAS. He was born in an unknown location in OH in 1866. He died, in the Parkersburg area between 1912-1916. He shows up in the 1912 Parkersburg directory with his wife, Lottie. The next directory in 1916, Lottie is listed as a widow. I have submitted letters to the funeral homes in the Parkersburg area that were in operation during this time. No luck, so far. I have written to Wood County for a death cert, no luck there either. They tell me they do not have one, or perhaps my information is in-complete. I would truly appreciate any information on cemeteries that may have LUCAS' in them. I have been searching for this man for 13 years now, and I am beginning to think he is forever lost. I thank you for reading this and for any help. Take care and be safe, Joyce LUCAS DEVER, near Seattle

Their address is Woodlawn Cemetery Co., Inc. P.O. Box 765 Fairmont, WV 26554 Phone: (304) 366-5583 I was there in June and the area is quite large. I had previous contact with the company and found them very helpful in giving me information about relatives who were buried there 50-60 years ago. By the way, Toothman is a very familiar name for that area. The office is not located at the cemetery so don't visit the cemetery hoping to get information at the site. I suggest you call them and they will be most helpful. Eleanor

We try to clean up what we can...But it'd be nice to have some Volunteers to help us. Not many people want to spend time cleaning up a cemetery...and not get paid for it. If they'd only realize what a tremendous service this is for preserving our past(s). Thanks for sending your info. Sometimes I get better results when I have their names, etc. I never know what I might come across. I'll be in touch! (I know that you are probably Anxious!)
