Wright suffered a wound during the Battle of Chancellorsville and spent some time recuperating in a hospital in Washington, D.C. A 1964 book about the Civil War service of soldiers from Athens, Georgia, "These Men She Gave" by John F. Stegeman, references John A. Wright of the 140th as befriending Lt. Col. William Gaston Delony of Cobb's Legion. Delony was wounded and captured in a cavalry battle. His wound became infected with gangrene. As he lay dying, Wright read to him from the Bible. Delony died on October 2, 1863. I want to know if you have any letters written by Wright about this time that reference Delony. Best, Ron Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you would like to reply to them, please click on the Message Board URL link above and respond on the board.
