However, I am sorry to have confused you. By Sarah Massie Wright, I did not mean she'd married a Massie--- Rather John Edward Davis in 1887. I did not have the same difficulty with the census. The 1900 census shows her back home with John R. and Mary L., and states she is widowed. It lists her name as Davis and shows three children (but listed as John R's) --Effie, Charlie, and Carrie M. The 1920 census shows John R. living in the home of Harry Ember Walker, as Mr. Grant stated, (although the census shows Harry, not Harvey). Also, the 1920 census shows Sarah M. Jennings (the remarried Sarah M. Wright Davis) living still with Effie, identified as her daughter. But now Effie is married to a McKee. John R. is living in the home of Harry Ember Walker, because Carrie M. (now grown) is married to Harry Walker. John R. is listed in the household as "grandfather," connecting them. Mr. Grant was able to supply that John R.'s death certificate does list Thompson A. Wright (Senior) as John R. Wright's father, his mother Sarah Norcross. Hope that helps.
